Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
Tiida Tech Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our") cares about your privacy when you use Jimakun, our app for iPhone, iPad, and Android. This page explains what information the app handles and how it is handled.
Our approach
Jimakun displays a loved one's everyday conversation as large, easy-to-read captions filling the screen. It is not a meeting-transcription or minute-taking tool, and it is not designed to keep a record of what was said. Its purpose is simply to help someone follow the conversation that is happening right now.
In line with that purpose, Jimakun does not require an account. We do not operate proprietary servers to process or store conversations, and the app does not send conversation content to us for later use.
Information we collect
Using Jimakun does not require you to enter a name, email address, or any other personal information, and it does not require account registration. We do not collect information through the app for the purpose of directly identifying you. However, operating-system and platform services used by the Android app, including Google ML Kit, may process the diagnostic and usage data described below.
How audio is handled
Jimakun uses the microphone to turn the conversation around you into text shown on screen. On iPhone and iPad, speech recognition uses Apple's Speech framework. Processing takes place on the device when the device and language support on-device recognition. Otherwise, Apple's network-based speech recognition may be used.
On Android, converted speech-recognition models based on ReazonSpeech and SenseVoice are downloaded to the device, and conversation audio is processed on the device. Android speech recognition does not send conversation audio or captions to our servers or to Google servers.
On every supported platform, Jimakun does not record audio to a file or save it. Audio data and temporary audio buffers used for speech recognition are never stored in any database or server operated by us.
How caption data is handled
The captions generated by speech recognition are held only temporarily, for the sole purpose of displaying them on screen. They are not kept as a permanent history on your device or on any server. When you close the app or end a conversation, that text is discarded.
How translation data is handled
When translation is enabled, the iPhone and iPad app uses Apple's Translation framework, while the Android app uses Google ML Kit's on-device translation. Required translation models are downloaded to the device, and the text being translated is processed on the device. It is not sent to or stored on our servers.
According to Google's ML Kit data disclosure, the ML Kit SDK automatically collects device and app information, per-installation identifiers, performance information, input and output sizes, event and error information, and source and target languages for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google states that this data is encrypted in transit and is not shared with third parties. The disclosure does not state that the text being translated is collected.
Information stored on your device
App settings such as text size, background color, and language, words added to the dictionary, onboarding completion, and the trial start date are stored on your device. On iPhone and iPad, settings, dictionary words, and onboarding status are stored in UserDefaults, while the trial start date is stored in the Keychain and may remain after reinstallation. On Android, this information is stored in the app's private SharedPreferences. It is not sent to our servers.
Purchase information
Paid access is processed through Apple's StoreKit on iPhone and iPad and Google Play Billing on Android. Jimakun asks the relevant store for product pricing and purchase status, but we do not receive payment details such as your credit card number. Each store manages purchase history in association with your Apple Account or Google Account.
Retention and deletion
Android local data and iPhone/iPad settings, dictionary words, and onboarding status are removed when you delete Jimakun. The iPhone and iPad trial start date may remain because it is stored in the Keychain. Each store retains its purchase history. You can revoke microphone and speech-recognition permission at any time in your device's Settings.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell information obtained from users through Jimakun. We do not store or accumulate conversation audio or captions. Processing by platform providers such as Apple and Google is governed by the sections above and by each provider's privacy policy.
Ads and analytics SDKs
Jimakun does not display advertising. It does not include any advertising SDKs or any proprietary analytics SDK that we use to track user behavior. For diagnostic and usage data collected automatically by ML Kit on Android, see “How translation data is handled.”
Cookies and site analytics
This website does not currently use cookies for analytics that could identify an individual visitor. We may in the future introduce a cookie-free analytics tool to help us improve the site, but even then we would not collect information that identifies you personally.
